Kerry Carpenter smashes a home run against White Sox on Monday
Pinch me. Can this be real?
The Detroit Tigers lead the major leagues with 40 wins and hold a 6.5-game lead over the second-place Cleveland Guardians.
With outfielder Parker Meadows coming off the injured list Monday night against the Chicago White Sox, it's clear the team has an abundance of riches.
In the 13–1 victory against the White Sox at Rate Field in Chicago, Kerry Carpenter hit three home runs, and Meadows went 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, and two walks. Meadows also made a diving catch in the first inning, saving a run.
Carpenter, according to the Detroit News, said this about Meadows’ return to the team:
"It's different with him in center field. We really missed him. I think I speak for everybody when I say that: We miss watching him play baseball. He's super special and such a spark plug for us. We feel like we're a really dangerous team when he's with us."
The Tigers play the White Sox Tuesday at 7:40 p.m.
