Thirteen people—six of them children—were injured in an explosion Monday at a Detroit apartment building at Littlefield and Schoolcraft on the city's west side, Fox 2 reports. Three people were in critical condition.
The blast, which occurred around 4 a.m., caused extensive damage. The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
As of late Monday, three people remained in critical condition—a 3-year-old, a 28-year-old woman, and a 27-year-old man.
Some residents needed to be rescued from the second floor of the building, Fox 2 reports.
