Republican Vice Presidential candidate J.D. Vance plans to visit Detroit on Tuesday, followed by ex-President Donald Trump's appearance at the Detroit Economic Club on Thursday.

Trump, who spoke at the Detroit Economic Club in 2016, is expected to articulate his economic plan, something his advisers have been pushing him to do rather than resorting to personal attacks against Vice President Kamala Harris.

The event will be held at MotorCity Casino Hotel's Sound Board theater and is for club members and accompanied guests.

Vance will be at Eastern Market in Detroit on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at 2934 Russell St.

Harris, who has visited Michigan multiple times, was in Flint last week. Vice presidential candidate Tim Walz was at the University of Minnesota football game against the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor on Sept. 28.

Trump's appearance comes as he's getting pushback from the White House, which has accused him of lying about FEMA disaster funds. Trump has falsely said that FEMA is running out ot money to help victims of Hurricane Helene because the government has diverted those funds for illegal immigrants.

The false allegations by Trump have prompted FEMA to set up a "Hurricane Helene: Rumor Response" page that says:

FEMA has enough money right now for immediate response and recovery needs. If you were affected by Helene, do not hesitate to apply for disaster assistance as there is a variety of help available for different needs.

No money is being diverted from disaster response needs. FEMA’s disaster response efforts and individual assistance is funded through the Disaster Relief Fund, which is a dedicated fund for disaster efforts. Disaster Relief Fund money has not been diverted to other, non-disaster related efforts.
