Detroit Police have released a video that shows officers and a motorist coming under gunfire during a traffic stop on Monday night at Seneca Street and Harper Avenue on the city's east side. No one was injured and no arrests have been made.
Detroit Police Chief James White said at a press conference Tuesday that the officers were conducting a traffic stop around 8 p.m., and the motorist was outside his car, when two gunshots were fired. They all ran for cover.
White said it's the third time in recent weeks officers have come under fire.
"This is absolutely unacceptable and ridiculous," White said. "Our officers are working very hard to keep the residents of this community, those who work, play, and visit in our town, safe. And they deserve to go home to their families. We are asking for the community's help identifying the suspect."
Police are offering a $2,000 reward for information in the case.
